NAS

You might have seen me moan about my Netgear SC101 and how rubbish it is.  Well the straw that broke the camels back happened last weekend when I “lost” one of my two SC101s and potentially all the data on it.  I have switched both of them off and will try and get the data off them next week.

In the mean time I have just purchased a Synology CS-406e Cube Station with 4x 320gb SATA drives.  The total price was a bit steep but I need a NAS that actually works, and Duane recommended this one (http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=468731

I will build it next week and give my progress and views.  I will also compare it against my SC101

In addition I will also build a Windows Home Server using the 4 IDE disks that my SC101 has and I will let you know how that goes too.
